Safety Disconnect Info

A safety disconnect is a switch that allows you to quickly and conveniently shut off the current flowing through your system.

In the event of an emergency, first responders must be able to quickly and safely shut down your system to avoid the risk of electrical shock from a live array. Utility companies may also utilize the solar disconnect when performing maintenance or other repairs to nearby power lines.

A DC disconnect shuts off the current from the panels to the inverter. An AC disconnect shuts off the current between the inverter and the AC power grid.
